Brake Motor

The Euronorm brake motor is based on a single phase electric motor, 3 phase elektric motor, ATEX motor or integrated motor on motorreducer motors. In general the brake is mounted on the backside of the motor.

The selection of the correct brake depends on your application, gearbox and / or method of control. We supply fail safe brakes (electric magnetic brake release and spring applied braking), but also electric magnetic braking and spring applied release.

Depending on the application we also have double brakes, control features (micro switches), IP66 or higher, etc. Please contact us and we can help you selecting the right brake for your application.

Standard DC brake. this is a powerfull brake activated by a DC voltage: 24Vdc or 200Vdc (400Vac or 230Vac rectifier). This brake type is powerfull (high torque), reliable and is avaiable from stock. This brake is suitable for dynamic braking, such as in hoisting applications. The braking torque is adjustable.

IP66 DC brake. this is a powerfull brake activated by a DC voltage: 24Vdc or 200Vdc (400Vac or 230Vac rectifier). This brake type is powerfull (high torque), reliable and suitable for wet condtions due to its closed housing and the use of stainless steel parts. This brake is suitable for dynamic braking, such as in hoisting applications. The braking torque is adjustable.

Standard AC brake. this is a powerfull brake activated by a AC voltage of 400Vac. This brake type is powerfull (high torque), reliable and als avaiable from stock. This brake is suitable for dynamic braking, such as in hoisting applications. The braking torque is adjustable.

Theater brakes: powerfull DOUBLE brake activated by a DC voltage: 24Vdc or 200Vdc (400Vac or 230Vac rectifier). This brake type is powerfull (high torque), reliable and has a double safety due to two seperate electrical circuits. The microswitches determine the airgap (so wear detection) and if the brake is responding. This brake is used in applications where SIL 3 in mandatory.

ATEX brakes. Braking means friction and friction means heat. This heat can become a potential ignition source. With our explotion proof brakes the explosion will not go further than the housing where the brake is located.

Parking brake. This is a simple and compact brake which is activated by a DC-voltage. This brake has a low braking torque and is suitable for static braking or dynamic braking when a wormgear box (has self braking properties) is used.
